Director, MetroSouth Adult & Senior Health Center

Rajesh Iyengar, MD, is the Director of the new MetroSouth Adult & Senior Health Center conveniently located on the ground floor of the hospital.  Board-certified in both geriatrics and family medicine, Dr. Iyengar is perfectly poised to diagnose and treat diseases and conditions that affect seniors and older adults.

Dr. Iyengar, educated in India, has spent the last ten years training and working in the Chicago area.  He completed his residency in family medicine at Jackson Park Hospital where he gained experience in geriatrics by making patient home visits and treating patients in nursing homes.  He continued his geriatrics specialty by completing his fellowship at University of Illinois at Chicago where he also trained in hospice and palliative care on both an inpatient and outpatient basis.

He treats long-term acute patients at RML Specialty Hospital, is a clinical instructor at University of Illinois at Chicago and serves as a board member on a local hospice council.  He is a published expert in the area of end of life care issues.
