Dr. Robert Iaffaldano Discusses Coronary Artery Disease

According to the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association’s 2006 publication on heart disease, cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States. In fact, heart disease accounts for nearly 1.4 million deaths per year and was responsible for one in almost three deaths in the United States in 2003. Approximately 13 million individuals have a history of coronary artery disease and 7.2 million have suffered a heart attack. Almost 2500 Americans die of cardiovascular disease each day and it claims more lives each year than the next four leading causes of death combined.

Listen to Dr. Robert Iaffaldano, interventional cardiologist at MetroSouth Medical Center, discuss the risk factors of coronary artery disease and screening recommendations for patients at risk.
