Peripheral artery disease or PAD affects approximately 12-20 percent of adult Americans over 65 years of age. Despite the large numbers of seniors with the disease, less than 25% of them are undergoing treatment. The consequences of untreated peripheral artery disease are serious and include risks of heart attack, stroke and even death.
